..About me

My name is Stacey and I am a 26 year-old from the Chicagoland area. I was recently awarded a Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from Illinois State University in Normal, Illinois (yes, ironic, I know) where I was also Vice President of P.R.O.T.E.C.T.: People Reaching Out To Educate Campus Together, a religious organization promoting toleance and acceptance as well as educating the campus about pagan and earth based non judeo-christian religions. No flames, please, we're really touchy about fire, you know ;) I was also a member of Alpha Phi Omega (APO), a co-ed community service fraternity on campus, for 3 years. I've worked at Borders Books for over 5 years as bookseller & barista and for the last year I've been the music department supervisor. I am also recently single after a five year relationship which has left me contemplating spinsterhood. Not really, but you just gotta be aware. On the education front, I'm currently in the process of apply for graduate school to obtain a masters degree in library sciences and would one day love to be a high-school librarian or perhaps work with rare and special collections. I love the printed word.

In a nutshell, I'm a huge geek. Always have been. I love to read an excessive amount of books, as well as comics and manga. As you might be able to tell, I'm a HUGE Lord of the Rings geek, as well as a Harry Potter geek, an anime geek , a computer geek (yay for Apple!), a Pirate, a RenFaire geek (Bristol), and a Harley-Davidson fanatic. I love costumes and found there were others who loved geeky costumes just as much as me. I am also an ameture actress, usually only in the communiy theatre realm. I'm a convention nerd who's planning on attending many more that I can afford in the upcoming year, AnimeCentral & Wizard World in Chicago as well as some new adventures. Hmmm... so many cons, so few weekends!!!
